So what an experience it was to kill Lich King Heroic. The encounter is honestly one of the most precise, demanding and well tuned (even at 30% buff) that i've ever seen. It really was an awesome culmination to the Wotlk expansion. That encounter was one that for me took some time to adjust, a steep learning curve if you will. In the end the difference on that fight really is made by having some very identifiable visual cues for important pieces of information. I was also fortunate enough to join a guild like Temerity in the middle of ther LK progression.
Halion went down like a chump the week before and we acquired a US #102 kill that would have surely been significantly sooner had there been a decision to go after it a little harder; but that would have required splitting our HLK time. In the end i think the guild leadership made a good decision by continuing to focus on HLK after the first kill. It was important to get all raiders there achievment or more importatnly the satisfaction of the kill.
HLK is a pretty exciting fight for the spriest. Each phase, each minute has some very definitive moments where execution is the ultimate game breaker. Miss a plague..wipe, mess up a defile....wipe, fail a CD on SR...wipe, the list pretty much goes on and on. Eventually it just comes down to comfort and familiarity. I enjoyed the fight so much because every class really almost has some important secondary role to play on top of executing perfectly in ther normal dps/heal/tank role.
Nice work Blizz, get me Cata quick..mkay?

Engineering and those damn rocket boots!
So i recently made the switch to Engineering leaving behind Inscription which throughout LK i've grown very fond of. I pondered on the idea for a very long time, but never quite found enough desire to make the switch. I kept thinking that the second i switch Blizzard would unleash some mega, ubber awesome details about how Inscription was going to be King in Cata. Those details never came and i finally decided to take that leap. 2 days and 5k gold later i got the job done.
It was a pretty interesting switch for a shadow priest. I really enjoy the haste CD for the gloves and the rocket boots are just so much fun. I find the profession to have really enhanced my game play. I enjoy trying to line up CD's for appropriate times in an encounter. It's more buttons to push at key times. It's been a very nice break from just trying to maintain a tight priority system.
Switching did come with a few humiliating experiences, based solely to some noob mistakes made by myself. My first night raiding with the new enchants (like an hour after i finished leveling it up :P) i was switching my keybinds around to accomodate the new binds needed for my accelerators and rocket boots. Were standing at Heroic Deathwhisper when i go to open my character pain to ensure i'm wearing my hit set as my group lacked a dreanai. My bags are open, i go to reach for my 'c' key to open the character pain, when all of a sudden i hear my raid leader/GM yelling who pulled the boss. I initially didn't think it was me, so i quickly cleared my screen and furociously tried to keep order in the chaos. It wasn't until after the wipe that i realized for whatever reason i had reassigned the c key to be my cast on focus macro. Needless enough to say that little silly error ended up being quit humiliating. Note to self...double check all keybinds when you play around with them. :)
Engineering = WIN

This is Me!
Welcome to the Leg Breaker Express!
I've designed the blog around my personal growth in the game of WOW. Do you remember spending countless off raid hours, trolling Dalaran or wasting your time doing much of the same repetitive tasks. I remember when that was me. So consumed by the game that i wanted to spend all my free time 'logged on', even if i accomplished absolutely nothing with that time.
This blog is part of my efforts to evolve my WoW Horizons. Over the past few months as the needed commitment for ICC twindles, i've found myself looking for new avenues to express my excitement for the game. I've begun tinkering with videos of not only boss kills but my some of my, albeit less frequent, Dalaran exploits.
I hope that in some way my passion for the dark priestly ways will encourage a constructive dialogue about the ever evolving journay that is; being a Shadow Priest.
