Killing Roadblocks

So what an experience it was to kill Lich King Heroic. The encounter is honestly one of the most precise, demanding and well tuned (even at 30% buff) that i've ever seen. It really was an awesome culmination to the Wotlk expansion. That encounter was one that for me took some time to adjust, a steep learning curve if you will. In the end the difference on that fight really is made by having some very identifiable visual cues for important pieces of information. I was also fortunate enough to join a guild like Temerity in the middle of ther LK progression.

Halion went down like a chump the week before and we acquired a US #102 kill that would have surely been significantly sooner had there been a decision to go after it a little harder; but that would have required splitting our HLK time. In the end i think the guild leadership made a good decision by continuing to focus on HLK after the first kill. It was important to get all raiders there achievment or more importatnly the satisfaction of the kill.

HLK is a pretty exciting fight for the spriest. Each phase, each minute has some very definitive moments where execution is the ultimate game breaker. Miss a plague..wipe, mess up a defile....wipe, fail a CD on SR...wipe, the list pretty much goes on and on. Eventually it just comes down to comfort and familiarity. I enjoyed the fight so much because every class really almost has some important secondary role to play on top of executing perfectly in ther normal dps/heal/tank role.

Nice work Blizz, get me Cata quick..mkay?
